Car boom in Turkey

Sales of trucks and cars in Turkey for the first four months of 2011 arrived at the climax. They increased by 64% as compared with last year's figures. During the period from January to April 259,182 cars were sold in the country.

In January, sales went up by 123% in February, March and April - by 88%, 51% and 41.1% respectively.

At the first of the year the sales of the most popular among buyers cars increased by 137%.

Sales of diesel cars for the first four months of 2011 have doubled as compared to last year. Approximately 60% of all car sales in Turkey accounts for diesel cars. More expensive cars were sold, and now Toyota RAV 4 is not unusual.

Gradual decline in sales during the first quarter of the year can be explained by increase in interest rates and monthly payments on car loans, which the Turks have faced in March and April.
